Otis Kane Drops A Psych-Funk Opus With Purple BLUE
Otis Kane permeates that unmistakable LA cool. Not the kind you see on TV and read about in magazines, but, you know, actual cool. But that never stops the born-and-raised Angeleno from imbuing his songs with deeply felt emotions. His new project, Purple BLUE, is R&B for a new generation, slick with studio tricks and masterfully arranged instruments that surround Kane’s effortlessly silky voice.
There’s “Good Love,” the nu-disco anthem that finds Kane and his lady drinking a little more wine and a little more time before taking things further. It’s these little details that make Kane and Purple BLUE a standout. This music is deeply personal, but Kane frames it in a way that makes his songs feel like he’s talking directly to you.
