Kid Quill Shows Off His (Surprisingly Excellent) Vocal Chops On "Mood Ring"
Kid Quill is known for his heady bars and humor-laced one-liners, but on “Mood Ring” with Pressa, the MC shows off his ability to straight up croon over a beat. Granted, there are plenty of clever rhymes throughout, such as, “I get paid for my letters like A, B, C,” but Quill steals the show in part due to his ability to smooth-talk his way into any conversation, to float atop a beat with ease and comfort. It shows off the versatility that’s made Quill one of the most exciting young MCs in the country, able to blend feel-good concepts with a high level of craft. On the Pressa-assisted “Mood Ring,” Kid Quill proves that even when he’s flipping between singing and rapping, he still steals the show.
