Kid Quill Drops Golden Age Throwback "Curbside"

There are about 20,000 people that live in Shelbyville, Indiana. It’s a small town just southeast of Indianapolis. The town doesn’t have any particularly strong claim to fame, although Kid Quill is aiming to change that. The smooth-talking MC has been building a reputation in the Midwest as one of the most exciting rappers to emerge from the Hoosier State since he dropped Ear to Ear in 2014.

His latest single, “Curbside,” takes the joyful spirit of an artist like Chance the Rapper and blends it with a humble charm that can only be raised in a small town like Shelbyville. Kid Quill spits bars about his Cinderella eschewing a nice pair of heels in favor of Jordan I’s and getting out of the club for a little bit of fresh air. The samples are pitched up and the handclaps are numerous, and “Curbside” is a clear favorite for feel-good anthem of the summer.
