Payday And Danny Brown Channel Their Inner Dracula In "Vampire" Video
The video, which comes just in time for Halloween, follows PAYDAY and Danny as they both turn into vampires and wreak havoc across town in a stolen hearse.
Ela Minus has applied her electronic wizardry to Little Dragon’s “Hold On,” the lush opening track from their 2020 LP, New Me, Same Us. Minus takes the dancefloor-ready disco anthem to unpredictable places, fragmenting Yukimi Nagano’s vocal line and flipping it on its head. With a subtle four-on-the-floor bassline, Minus slowly introduces the synth melody that buoys the track, introducing it as more of an accent than a melodic lead. The track slowly builds and builds as Minus introduces metallic percussion, hinting at a catharsis that eventually arrives in the form of booming, pitched-down vocals. Minus walks a tightrope here, keeping the tenets of the original while turning “Hold On” into her own mini masterpiece.
